Donald Trump’s recent Super Bowl interview on Fox News raised some eyebrows, as it highlighted the cozy relationship between the president and certain media outlets. Trump tends to stick to Fox News or the White House Press Corps for interviews, as these platforms are known for not asking the tough questions in exchange for access to the president.
It’s worth noting that Trump likely only agreed to the Super Bowl interview because it was airing on Fox News, where he knew he would receive a friendly reception. Host Bret Baier asked Trump softball questions about his personal life and sports, avoiding any real challenges. The only relevant question posed was about inflation and when families can expect relief from rising prices.
Trump’s response was riddled with misinformation, particularly when he claimed that the US has trade deficits with Canada and Mexico. In reality, the US has a surplus with Canada and a smaller deficit with Mexico. Trump’s lack of understanding on this issue is concerning, as his proposed trade war with Canada would have disastrous consequences for the US economy.
The interview was a mess of nonsensical ramblings and unanswered questions, showcasing Trump’s mental state. His attempts to assert control over Elon Musk and his plans for a bogus report on fraud and waste only further highlight his detachment from reality.
In order to combat Trump and his radical agenda, it’s important to expose his failures and false promises. Letting him continue to mislead the American people will only weaken his hold on power.
