Stephen Colbert, the host of the “Late Show,” expressed his struggle in finding light-hearted stories amidst the grim news dominating headlines. He mentioned that the current state of affairs is so dire that even a story about a plane crash, where everyone survived, is considered a light news piece.

Reflecting on a recent plane crash in Toronto where all 80 passengers survived despite the aircraft bursting into flames and flipping over during landing, Colbert jokingly reminisced about simpler times when only doors flew off planes.

Although 21 individuals were injured in the crash, with two still hospitalized, their injuries are thankfully not life-threatening as reported by Reuters. The investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
