Therapy is once again in session as the highly acclaimed documentary series “Couples Therapy” makes its return with the second installment of its fourth season on May 23. This season will feature nine new episodes and introduce four new couples, each facing their own raw and complex issues.
The series, which has garnered critical acclaim and awards such as the Television Critics Association Award for outstanding achievement in reality programming, follows renowned psychologist and psychoanalyst Dr. Orna Guralnik as she guides couples through real-life therapy sessions. Viewers are provided with a rare glimpse into the emotional intricacies of romantic relationships as Dr. Guralnik employs her empathetic yet unflinching approach.
The new season will premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers having access to all episodes for streaming and on demand the same day. On linear TV, the season will kick off with the first three episodes airing back-to-back on Friday, May 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, followed by weekly pairs of episodes every Friday at the same time.
Part two of the fourth season introduces four new couples, each grappling with their own unique challenges. From a deaf man and his hearing partner navigating issues of commitment and sexual freedom to a young couple confronting trauma and buried secrets, the season promises to delve deep into the complexities of modern relationships.
“Couples Therapy” has received numerous accolades within the industry, including the 2024 American Cinema Editors Award for Best Edited Non-Scripted Series. The series has also been nominated for awards from the International Documentary Association, Cinema Eye Honors, Critics’ Choice Real TV Awards, as well as the TCA and ACE Awards.
