Pop icon Katy Perry has taken a moment to address the torrent of criticism and ridicule that has recently been directed her way, using a heartfelt response to a Brazilian fan page as her platform.
The 40-year-old artist expressed her gratitude in reaction to a video shared by the fan page, which featured a billboard thanking her for her contributions, as reported by Cosmopolitan.
âIâm so grateful for you guys,â Perry wrote in her response, as reported by Fox News. âWeâre on this beautiful and wild journey together. I strive to remain true to myself, with an open heart and honesty, especially because of our connection.
âI love you all and feel like weâve grown up together, and I canât wait to see you around the world this year!
âPlease understand that I am okay; I have done a lot of work on understanding who I am, what is real, and what matters to me.
âYears ago, my therapist shared a pivotal insight: âNo one can make you believe something about yourself that you donât already believe.â If I ever feel a certain way about criticism, itâs an opportunity to explore those feelings further.
âWhen the online world tries to turn me into a human Piñata, I respond with grace and send out love, because I realize many people are struggling in various ways, and the internet often serves as a dumping ground for the unhinged and unhealed.â

âWhatâs real is seeing your faces every night, singing in unison, reading your notes, and feeling your warmth. I find people to connect with and sing alongside, and I know we are healing each other in small ways every time I get to do that.
âIâm not perfect, and Iâve actually removed that word from my vocabulary. Iâm on a human journey, navigating the game of life with a vast audience, and sometimes I stumble, but I rise again and keep playing. Through this battered and bruised adventure, I continuously seek the light, and in that light, new levels of understanding are unlocked.â
While her lengthy response lacks specifics beyond her reflections on the âonlineâ world, it’s important to note that Perry has recently faced two major instances of public derision. Firstly, she was part of a widely criticized all-female space crew involved in Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin program earlier this April.

(A subsequent video only fueled the critics â including the White House â who contended that the flight resembled more of a theme park ride than a genuine space mission.)
In addition to this incident, Perry has also encountered broader scrutiny regarding her âLifetimesâ tour, with one particularly viral video subjecting her to widespread derision. The Western Journal refrains from embedding the video due to its suggestive choreography, but it can be viewed here, where the comments are notably harsh.
âMaybe she should have spent less time in space and more time rehearsing,â quipped one user on X here.
Others on X compared Perry’s dance moves to those of Australian break dancer Rachael âRaygunâ Gunn â and letâs just say, it wasnât meant as a compliment for those unacquainted with the reference.
