Trump Announces 2 New National Holidays… With A Catch

President Donald Trump recently made an announcement regarding the introduction of two new national holidays, which stirred up some controversy. Despite the excitement surrounding the new holidays, Trump clarified that there would be no additional time off work. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that the country would not be closing for the new holidays, as he believed that America already had an abundance of holidays and there were not enough days left in the year. He emphasized that Americans were workers then and are workers now.

One of the new holidays designated by Trump is on May 8, commemorating the allies’ victory in World War II. Additionally, Trump proposed renaming Veterans Day on Nov. 11 as “Victory Day for World War I” to honor the signing of the Armistice that ended the first World War.

Trump’s decision to introduce these new holidays stemmed from his belief that the United States had not received proper recognition for its role in winning the two World Wars. He expressed frustration that while allies around the world celebrate the victories in World War II, the U.S. does not have a designated day for this purpose. Trump emphasized the crucial role of the United States in achieving victory in the wars and highlighted the significant impact it had on shaping the world as we know it today.
