Senator John Fetterman’s trajectory in Pennsylvania politics has been buoyed by a coalition of liberals, progressives, and Democrats. Thus, the notion of a primary challenge against the incumbent senator seemed utterly implausible just five months ago.

However, a recent incident has sparked renewed concerns regarding Fetterman’s health.

The AP reported:

During a meeting last week with representatives from a teachers’ union in Pennsylvania, Senator John Fetterman reportedly experienced a troubling episode.

It was reported that he began to repeat himself, raising his voice and questioning, “Why is everybody mad at me?” and “What did I ever do?” while forcefully slamming his hands on a desk. This behavior alarmed those present, according to an insider.

As the situation escalated, a staff member intervened to conclude the meeting, leading the visitors into the hallway where she was seen in tears. The teachers, equally unsettled by Fetterman’s outburst, offered her comfort, according to another source familiar with the incident.

In response to concerns highlighted in a New York Magazine article suggesting that former staffers worry he may be straying from his mental health treatment plan, Fetterman has dismissed these claims.

The teachers’ union incident has undoubtedly added to the mounting anxiety regarding the senator’s well-being.

So serious are the concerns that, as reported by Politico, discussions among Pennsylvania Democrats about potentially challenging Fetterman in a primary have begun:
