A 16-year-old teenager has been indicted on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery following the fatal shooting of another teen in Denver’s Lowry Field area in April.
Hamilton Biruck is believed to be the individual responsible for the shooting of 18-year-old Andres Yzaguirre on East Lowry Boulevard on April 15.
Yzaguirre succumbed to his injuries at a hospital over a week later, as confirmed by authorities. Biruck was taken into custody on April 18 after the incident.
Matt Jablow, a spokesperson for the district attorney, verified via email that Biruck is being prosecuted as an adult.
Biruck is set to appear in court for his next hearing on June 13.
