Joy Behar and the Democratic Dilemma with Male Voters

On a recent episode of ‘The View’, host Joy Behar made a remark that encapsulates the Democratic Party’s ongoing struggle to win over male voters—a challenge that seems to deepen with each election cycle.

As we approach the 2024 election, analyses reveal a significant shift among male voters across diverse demographics, with many leaning toward Trump and the Republican Party. This trend has prompted Democrats to invest approximately $20 million in research aimed at understanding and reversing this exodus, recognizing the detrimental impact it may have on their electoral prospects.

Yet, it appears that Behar is committed to ensuring that men remain on the sidelines.

Breitbart News highlights the discussion:

Co-host Sara Haines observed, “I think it’s the wrong way to go about the problem, because the Democrats are asking how do we get male voters? The disillusionment of men is how do we care better about our men and boys; it should be about how we solve the root problems that drove men to feel like they had nowhere to go.”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin added, “The most common thing I hear from men who were open to supporting Trump is that they want the opportunity to provide for the future and build wealth. They don’t want to feel ashamed for wanting to support their families. When they see the statistics indicating that men are falling behind, they want to address it without being accused of excluding girls and women.”

In response, Behar stated, “You wonder what I think? I think it’s a waste of money. Maybe these guys should spend their money on teaching men to not be such sexists. Maybe that’s it.”

And there you have it. What better strategy to win back male voters than to broadly label them as sexists? Bravo, Joy. Your approach seems poised to strengthen the very barriers the Democratic Party seeks to dismantle.
