In a series of incendiary remarks, comedian and actress Roseanne Barr has accused ABC and its parent company Disney of orchestrating her removal from the lead role in the reboot of her iconic show ‘Roseanne’. Many speculate that her outspoken conservative views, particularly her support for Donald Trump, played a significant role in this decision.
Originally aired from 1988 to 1998, the show made a much-anticipated return in 2018 with much of its original cast, including Barr. However, this revival was short-lived. Following a controversial tweet about former President Barack Obama and his advisor Valerie Jarrett, Barr was abruptly dismissed, leading to the show’s cancellation.
Subsequently, the network launched a spinoff titled ‘The Connors’, in which Barr’s character was killed off, effectively erasing the original show’s essence and replacing it with what critics describe as a bland, overly progressive narrative.
In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Barr broke her silence regarding her sudden firing, suggesting that a more insidious agenda was at play. She claims that the phenomenon of cancel culture provided the network’s executives with the justification they needed to dismiss her.
Trending Politics News reports:
“They were waiting for me to slip up,” Barr alleged, asserting that network executives had it out for her long before the tweet was posted due to her vocal support for President Trump and her conservative beliefs. She further contended that the network took extraordinary measures to ensure her ouster prior to her controversial tweet.
“They spied. They monitored everything I did. They wanted to censor me from the very beginning,” Barr claimed in her interview with the Daily Mail. “They hijacked that tweet and misconstrued its meaning.”

Additionally, Barr has retracted her previous apology, in which she expressed remorse for making what she deemed a “bad joke” regarding political matters and appearances. “The worst mistake you can make is to apologize to the left. They will then embark on a relentless crusade against you,” she stated. “Once you concede a mistake, they’ll pursue you until you’re completely obliterated.”
In an exciting development, Barr has announced her upcoming film, ‘Roseanne Is America,’ set to premiere on June 10, 2025.
