Matthew Perryâs Doctor Pleads Guilty to Distributing Ketamine
Matthew Perry, best known for his role in the popular TV show “Friends,” tragically passed away in October 2023 due to a drug overdose. His doctor, Salvador Plasencia, has recently agreed to plead guilty to four counts of distributing ketamine to the late actor.
According to the plea agreement, Plasencia admitted to providing ketamine to Perry without a legitimate medical purpose in the weeks leading up to his death. The agreement foresees a prison sentence ranging from 15 to 21 months, with the final decision resting in the hands of the judge.
Perry was discovered deceased in his hot tub at his residence in the Pacific Palisades at the age of 54. Last summer, federal authorities charged Plasencia and four others for their involvement in Perry’s untimely passing.
One of the accused individuals, Jasveen Sangha, also known as the “Ketamine Queen,” faces charges of possessing and distributing methamphetamine and ketamine from a stash house in North Hollywood. Sangha is set to stand trial in August.
Additionally, three other defendants, Erik Fleming, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Mark Chavez, have agreed to plead guilty to a single count of conspiracy to supply ketamine. It was alleged that Plasencia attempted to cover his tracks by fabricating a false “treatment plan” for Perry to make it appear as if the ketamine was prescribed legitimately.
