However, Apple TV+‘s new series, “Chief of War,” sheds light on this nearly 30-year-long enterprise through the eyes of Jason Momoa and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett.
The story begins with a prophecy foretelling of a great king who would unite the four kingdoms of Hawai’i and end the endless cycle of combat. “Chief of War” offers a unique perspective on Hawaiian history, with the majority of dialogue in the critically endangered Hawaiian language. While some episodes may feel overwhelming with numerous storylines, Episode 5 stands out as Ka’iana competes in a traditional lava sledding competition to prove his worth.
