On Thursday, the six soldiers who displayed extraordinary bravery—First Sgt. Joshua Arnold, Master Sgt. Justin Thomas, Staff Sgt. Melissa Taylor, Staff Sgt. Robert Pacheco, Sergeant Aaron Turner, and Sergeant Eve Rodarte—were honored by Secretary Driscoll at Fort Stewart. “Moreover, the remaining soldiers, drawing from years of rigorous training, swiftly began administering care to the injured, demonstrating their preparedness for such emergencies. Coincidentally, their unit had recently conducted a mass casualty exercise, which trained them for precisely this type of crisis,” he added.
