Macron Seeks Trump’s Intervention
Macron contacted Trump while he was immobilized in New York traffic.
“I’m really sorry, Mr. President, everything is currently blocked,” the officer informed the frustrated Macron, who then implored the officer to move his vehicle through if Trump’s entourage was nearby. When that didn’t pan out, Macron resorted to reaching Trump directly.
“How are you? Guess what, I’m stuck in the street because everything is closed for you,” Macron was heard cheerfully telling the US president over the phone.
Unfortunately, the conversation did not result in any immediate assistance, leaving the 47-year-old with no choice but to traverse the city on foot. Macron, however, appeared to take the incident in stride, engaging with local residents and taking photos with them.
In a lighthearted moment, a bystander was seen capturing a photo with Macron before kissing him on the head, prompting the French leader to humorously tell his security detail to ease off.

Trump’s Controversial Remarks at the UN
On the same day, Macron addressed the United Nations conference, during which he formally acknowledged the “State of Palestine” on behalf of France. Trump, speaking a day later, took a more combative stance.
The 79-year-old former president vocally criticized several allies in his speech, making controversial claims including the erroneous assertion that London was veering towards “Sharia law” under Mayor Sadiq Khan’s leadership.
Trump stated, “I look at London, where you have a terrible mayor, a truly terrible mayor. It’s been transformed so drastically that they want to implement Sharia law, but you’re in a different country. You can’t do that.”
In a swift rebuttal, a spokesman for Mayor Khan remarked: “We do not intend to dignify [Trump’s] appalling and bigoted comments with a response. London remains one of the safest cities globally, far outperforming many major US cities, and we pride ourselves on the increasing number of American citizens choosing to reside here.”
