AEW Star Danhausen’s Return Pitch Shut Down by Company

Danhausen, a popular name in the world of wrestling, has been noticeably absent from AEW television throughout 2024. The enigmatic wrestler recently shared his disappointment in how his pitch for a return was shut down by the company.

During an appearance on “Insight” with Chris Van Vliet, Danhausen revealed that he had pitched an idea for his comeback centered around Halloween time. He had proposed the concept of airing Halloween 3-style commercials until his return, creating anticipation among fans. However, the Jacksonville-based promotion continuously postponed his return, ultimately deflating the excitement surrounding his comeback.

Danhausen expressed his frustration, stating, “It was built for Halloween, and then I could have come back the next week, and I just didn’t. Then it took a little bit more time, and then I think I did come back on Thanksgiving, so it’s like three or four weeks later, but I come out and I want to wrestle.”

In addition to his return plans being thwarted, Danhausen also shared that he was on the verge of teaming up with wrestling legends Sting and Darby Allin. The trio, known for their distinctive face paint, would have made a formidable team in the ring. However, despite initial indications that the collaboration might materialize, the plans fell through.

Reflecting on the missed opportunity, Danhausen expressed his disappointment, saying, “I really, really wish I could have teamed with Darby and Sting. It almost happened. I think there was, like, a hint of it, and then it just didn’t.”

Fans can only speculate on the potential storyline and matches that could have transpired if Danhausen had teamed up with Sting and Darby Allin. The unique dynamic between the three wrestlers would have undoubtedly captured the attention of AEW viewers.

It remains to be seen if Danhausen will eventually make his highly anticipated return to AEW and if the possibility of teaming up with Sting and Darby Allin will be revisited in the future. Wrestling fans will surely be eagerly awaiting the next chapter in Danhausen’s career and the potential collaborations that lie ahead.
