Discovering you have head lice is never a pleasant experience, but for actress Jenny Mollen, the revelation came at the worst possible time – while she was on a five-hour flight from Los Angeles to New York City.

Mollen, who is married to actor Jason Biggs, shared her unexpected encounter with head lice in a social media post filmed on the plane on Oct. 29, where she can be seen wearing a plastic bag on her head.

“I’m on a plane with Caroline, and she just looked at my head. Remember when I told you last week that I thought my head was itchy due to perimenopause symptoms?” Mollen shared before dropping the bombshell. “Guess what? I have lice. I can’t even deal. This is insane, you guys. We have a five-hour flight. I’m wearing a bag that these came in on my head,” she said, pointing to some airline headphones.

Despite the fact that 6 million to 12 million people get head lice each year, as reported by the Cleveland Clinic, Mollen claimed she had never encountered lice before.

She mentioned that since her head had been itchy for some time, she suspected the lice had been “living on me for two weeks.”

Following the incident, some of Mollen’s followers criticized her for flying across the country with head lice.

“I definitely wouldn’t be on a plane with untreated lice and broadcasting it. Not cool,” one person commented, while another cautioned, “The airline could sue you to de-louse the entire plane. I would take those posts down quickly.”

Another individual remarked, “That’s appalling. You’re going to spread that all over the plane. You should be ashamed of yourself for making a video and laughing about it.”

The next day, Mollen shared another video revealing that her entire house was “infested with lice.”

“We’re getting rid of the lice. Last night, we applied the shampoo and exterminated them all,” she mentioned, referring to the bugs, not her family. “Now there are dead bodies being removed from my head.”

Mollen disclosed that while her husband only had two eggs in his hair, their two sons were fully infested.

She also apologized for flying with lice.

“I know, it’s a bummer for whoever sits in that airplane seat next. Just to clarify, I didn’t realize I had lice until I was on the plane. I had been scratching my head for about three weeks, thinking it was due to perimenopause,” she explained.

She then humorously shifted the blame to her husband for not spotting the lice when she asked him to check.

“Let’s just blame my husband for not inspecting my head closely enough,” she joked.
