Legendary actress Sally Kirkland has had an illustrious career spanning over 60 years, appearing in more than 250 film and television productions. She achieved great acclaim, winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and receiving an Oscar nomination for her role in the 1987 comedy-drama Anna.

However, Kirkland’s family recently shared a troubling health update on their ongoing GoFundMe page. They revealed that she suffered multiple fractures in her neck, wrist, and hip, followed by life-threatening infections during her recovery. These injuries and infections have necessitated extensive hospitalizations and rehabilitation, exceeding the coverage provided by insurance.

Unfortunately, due to health care restrictions and poor investment advice, Kirkland finds herself in a dire financial situation. Changes in insurance policies left her with substantial out-of-pocket costs that have depleted her savings and monthly pension income. Additionally, she lost a significant portion of her investments during the market crash of 2007, despite receiving bad advice from a financial advisor-business manager.

Despite these challenges, Kirkland’s family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from her fans. They described her as more than just a friend, but a maternal figure who has always offered encouragement, wisdom, and love. Kirkland, who has never had a life partner or children to lean on, has dedicated herself to her craft, church, friends, and community.

Beginning her acting career in off-Broadway productions and training under Lee Strasberg, Kirkland went on to portray memorable roles in Blue, Coming Apart, Private Benjamin, Big Bad Mama, Hawaii Five-O, Police Story, Charlie’s Angels, and Three’s Company. In addition to her acting prowess, Kirkland is also an accomplished painter, poet, and acting coach. She is an ordained minister in the Church of The Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness.

As Kirkland faces this health crisis, her family and supporters are rallying together to ensure she receives the necessary medical care to aid in her recovery. The GoFundMe campaign serves as a platform for those who have been touched by Kirkland’s talent, generosity, and unwavering spirit to come together and support her during this challenging time.
