The upcoming Amanda Knox limited series on Hulu has just announced the addition of four new cast members, as reported by Variety. The series, currently titled “Amanda,” has welcomed John Hoogenakker, Francesco Acquaroli, Giuseppe De Domenico, and Roberta Mattei to the cast.
Joining the previously announced lead Grace Van Patten and Sharon Horgan, who will portray Knox’s mother Edda Mellas, the new cast members bring a fresh perspective to the highly anticipated series. Hoogenakker will take on the role of Curt Knox, Amanda’s father, who is described as fun-loving yet stoic and fiercely defends his daughter in the media. Acquaroli will portray Giuliano Mignini, the Italian prosecutor who is convinced of Amanda’s guilt from the start and becomes consumed by the case. De Domenico will play Raffaele Sollecito, Amanda’s boyfriend at the time of the murder, while Mattei will star as Monica Napoleoni, the head of the homicide division in Perugia.
The series will delve into the infamous case of Amanda Knox, who was accused of the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher and spent 16 years fighting to prove her innocence. With KJ Steinberg as the writer and executive producer, the series boasts an impressive lineup of producers, including Warren Littlefield, Lisa Harrison, Ann Johnson, and Graham Littlefield, as well as Monica Lewinsky and Amanda Knox herself.
