The 52nd American Music Awards are making a grand return in 2025 after a nearly three-year hiatus. The prestigious event will be broadcast live from the iconic MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Dick Clark Productions and CBS will once again collaborate to bring the AMAs to viewers on Memorial Day, May 25. The ceremony will be aired live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. PT, with streaming and on-demand options available on Paramount+.

Nominations for this year’s AMAs will be unveiled on April 14, with fans getting the opportunity to vote for their favorite artists and music until May 8. Stay tuned for more details, including the lineup of performers, presenters, and ticket sales, which will be announced in the coming weeks.

In 2025, the AMAs marked a triumphant comeback with its first live ceremony since 2022. The 2022 show had seen a decline in viewership, but last year’s event saw a resurgence with an impressive average of 5.2 million viewers, the highest since 2019. Hosted by Jennifer Lopez at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Billie Eilish emerged as the night’s big winner, sweeping all seven nominated categories. Other notable winners included BeyoncĂ©, Bad Bunny, and Eminem, who each took home two awards.

CBS recently extended its partnership with Dick Clark Productions through a new five-year deal, ensuring that the AMAs will continue to be broadcast on the network and Paramount+ starting in 2026. The AMAs, originally created by Dick Clark for ABC in 1974, have become a staple in the music industry. The awards show originally aired in January or February before transitioning to the Thanksgiving season from 2003-2022.

It’s worth noting that Variety parent company PMC owns Dick Clark Productions in a joint venture with Eldridge. Stay tuned for more updates on the 52nd American Music Awards as the event draws closer.
