Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) called out Vice President JD Vance for hypocrisy in his recent free speech crusade, highlighting contradictions within his own administration. Ocasio-Cortez accused Vance of lying in Munich and pointed out that his administration is threatening members of Congress with criminal investigations for educating the public about their Constitutional rights. She shared an article about her dispute with Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar, who criticized her for hosting a “know your rights” seminar. Homan suggested Ocasio-Cortez could face prosecution for her actions and raised the issue with the Justice Department. This comes in the wake of Vance’s speech in Munich criticizing Europe for censoring free speech, which received backlash. The administration’s actions, including silencing climate experts, journalists, and health officials, contradict Trump’s executive order on freedom of speech. Ocasio-Cortez also dismissed Homan’s threats, stating that she is well within her rights to educate people about their Constitutional rights. “He may try to intimidate me with threats of jail time and hurl insults my way, but at the end of the day, he has no real power over me.” sentence using different words:
