Arson investigators are currently on the hunt for a dangerous firebug who has been targeting cannabis dispensaries on the North and Northwest Sides of Chicago. This individual has been responsible for starting two fires using Molotov cocktails, both incidents occurring during the overnight hours.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect breaking the front windows of the dispensaries with a hammer before throwing the lighted Molotov cocktails inside. The first incident took place at a dispensary in the 4700 block of North Milwaukee on April 19, followed by a second fire at a dispensary in the 4000 block of North Damen on April 27.

The suspect is described as a male wearing a face mask, black hoodie, and a black fanny pack slung over his shoulder and chest. He stands at approximately 5’9″ tall and weighs between 190 to 240 pounds. The Chicago Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward and contact them at 312-746-7618, referencing crime pattern #25-CWP-018.

This brazen act of arson poses a serious threat to public safety and the well-being of business owners and residents in the affected communities. The authorities are working diligently to apprehend the suspect and prevent any further incidents from occurring.

As this investigation unfolds, it is crucial for the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The collaboration between law enforcement and the public is essential in ensuring the safety and security of our neighborhoods.

Stay tuned for updates on this developing story as the search for the firebug continues. Let’s work together to keep our communities safe and bring this dangerous individual to justice.
