Arson investigators are currently on the hunt for a dangerous firebug who has been targeting cannabis dispensaries on the North and Northwest Sides of Chicago. This individual has been responsible for starting two fires using Molotov cocktails, both incidents occurring during the overnight hours.
Surveillance footage captured the suspect breaking the front windows of the dispensaries with a hammer before throwing the lighted Molotov cocktails inside. The first incident took place at a dispensary in the 4700 block of North Milwaukee on April 19, followed by a second fire at a dispensary in the 4000 block of North Damen on April 27.
The suspect is described as a male wearing a face mask, black hoodie, and a black fanny pack slung over his shoulder and chest. He stands at approximately 5’9″ tall and weighs between 190 to 240 pounds. The Chicago Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward and contact them at 312-746-7618, referencing crime pattern #25-CWP-018.
