Actor Aubrey Plaza released a joint statement with her late husband Jeff Baena’s family on Monday, following his sudden passing. The statement expressed gratitude for the support received and requested privacy during this difficult time.

Jeff Baena, a renowned screenwriter and director in the independent film industry, tragically died by suicide at the age of 47, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County medical examiner.

Plaza, known for her roles in “Parks and Recreation” and “The White Lotus,” was scheduled to appear at the Golden Globes but did not attend due to the heartbreaking loss.

The couple, who started dating in 2011 and tied the knot in 2021, collaborated on various projects such as “The Little Hours” and “Life After Beth,” both directed by Baena and featuring Plaza.

Several celebrities, including Alison Brie, Adam Pally, and Molly Shannon, have shared their condolences for Baena’s passing, highlighting his talents and impact on those around him.

Adam Pally fondly remembered Baena as a mentor, director, and connector of people, emphasizing his unique qualities and contributions to the industry.
