BayView Entertainment Secures North American Distribution Rights for FlareFlow’s Vertical Video Titles

BayView Entertainment has recently announced that they have acquired the North American distribution rights to a selection of vertical video titles from FlareFlow, a popular microdrama platform operated by COL Group International. This marks the first time that FlareFlow’s mobile-first content will be available outside of its native app.

The distribution of these titles will be carried out by BayView using their DotstudioPRO distribution technology, with plans to release them on various VOD and TVOD platforms in the second quarter of 2026. The deal was unveiled by BayView president Peter Castro and FlareFlow CEO James Wang.

Some of the exciting titles included in the catalog are “Who’s the Real Bride?,” “My Christmas Lover,” “My Werewolf Husband,” “Mistress With a Secret,” “The Blind Heiress Strikes Back” and “Naked Truth at Crazy Beach.”

FlareFlow, which made its debut in April 2025 on iOS and Android, has quickly become a prominent player in the microdrama sector, specializing in short-form serialized narratives designed for vertical viewing. With over 25 million subscribers worldwide, FlareFlow’s parent company, COL Group International, has been a leader in microdrama storytelling for several years.

This acquisition marks BayView’s entry into the vertical-format scripted programming arena. With a catalog of over 3,500 titles spanning various genres, BayView has established itself as a distributor of award-winning films that have premiered at prestigious festivals like Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, and the Toronto Film Festival.

FlareFlow’s content offers viewers narrative stories in episodes under 90 seconds, with cliffhanger endings that keep them engaged and eager for more. The productions are specifically shot for vertical screens, providing a unique viewing experience compared to traditional formats.

James Wang, CEO of FlareFlow, highlighted the appeal of their content, stating, “FlareFlow’s hook is immediate, the payoff is instant, and before you know it, you’ve watched an entire series during your commute – essentially binge-watching for people who don’t have time to binge-watch.” Wang expressed excitement about introducing North American audiences to this rapid-fire storytelling through their partnership with BayView Entertainment.

Peter Castro of BayView emphasized the growing popularity of short-form scripted content, stating, “Vertical, short-form scripted content continues to gain traction globally.” The collaboration with FlareFlow allows BayView to tap into the demand for short-form entertainment across traditional digital retail and VOD platforms.

Having merged with DotstudioPRO in summer 2025, BayView now boasts a library of over 7,500 titles, combining DotstudioPRO’s content management system and metadata automation capabilities with BayView’s distribution expertise.

COL Group International, operating in over 170 territories, continues to expand its partnerships with writers, studios, and distributors for its microdrama platforms, further solidifying its position in the industry.

Overall, the partnership between BayView Entertainment and FlareFlow promises to bring innovative and engaging content to audiences across North America, showcasing the appeal of vertical video storytelling in the evolving landscape of digital entertainment.
