In a tale that could easily serve as the plot for a political drama, Texas entrepreneur Timothy Barton finds himself embroiled in a contentious legal battle that raises questions about the motivations behind governmental actions—more specifically, whether they aim to uphold justice or silence dissenting voices.

Barton, a Christian businessman and staunch supporter of Donald Trump, is the founder of JMJ Development, a company that has thrived under his leadership. Yet, he now stands accused of being embroiled in a politically motivated attack—an example, some argue, of the so-called “lawfare” used by a federal government allegedly more concerned with appeasing the Chinese Communist Party than safeguarding American interests.

What, you may ask, is Barton’s alleged offense? He dared to draw attention to what he perceived as a covert operation by Chinese entities to acquire land in the United States under dubious circumstances.

The saga began in 2019 when Barton was approached by Haoqiang “Michael” Fu, a Chinese national, alongside his associate, Steven Wall. They pitched a partnership to Barton for lucrative real estate ventures in Texas. Initially, the prospect seemed promising, but soon, alarming signs emerged. Fu and Wall consistently failed to deliver promised funding, leaving Barton to shoulder the financial burden alone.

Barton’s deeper investigation uncovered what he described as egregious financial fraud, including altered documents that redirected repayments directly to Fu. Convinced that this was not merely a business misstep but rather a front for a larger CCP-backed initiative aimed at infiltrating American real estate, Barton took the bold step of notifying Homeland Security.

Yet, in what seems to be a hallmark of contemporary American politics, his whistleblowing resulted in repercussions, not rewards.

As the Trump administration transitioned out and the Biden administration stepped in, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) shifted their focus. Rather than investigating Fu’s questionable dealings or holding China accountable, the federal government turned its sights on Barton. He was hit with unfounded charges, subjected to a predawn raid reminiscent of a cartel bust, and had nearly all his assets seized—all before he had the chance to defend himself in court.

There was no opportunity for trial, no jury, nor any identified victims. Instead, Barton found himself crushed under the weight of a federal apparatus seemingly intent on making an example of a Trump supporter who dared to expose threats to American sovereignty.

Even Barton’s assistant, a woman with a clean record, was caught in this storm—arrested on Christmas Eve in a move that felt more like a vendetta than justice.

And that was merely the beginning.

Under the watch of Judge Brantley Starr, now a notorious figure in Texas legal circles, Barton’s fate was placed in the hands of a court-appointed receiver, Cort Thomas. From his first day, Thomas operated with an aggressive approach, dismantling Barton’s decades-long business structure, liquidating assets, and freezing family bank accounts, even dragging Barton’s children and ex-wife into the legal fray.

Thomas’s attorney, Charlene Koonce—author of “Weapons of a Receivership”—launched a series of lawsuits against individuals connected to Barton, many of which have since been quietly withdrawn. However, the damage inflicted was already substantial.

This situation transcends mere oversight; it is an alarming example of overreach, a case of lawfare deeply intertwined with political motivations.

Let’s not kid ourselves: this would not have transpired had Barton not been a public supporter of Trump who dared to whistleblow on operations linked to a significant geopolitical adversary. In today’s convoluted justice system, such actions can quickly turn a citizen into a target.

Despite these immense pressures, Barton remains steadfast. Anchored in his Christian faith and belief in American values, he continues to fight against what seems like an oppressive system designed to break him. He built his company from the ground up, using his success to support initiatives that prioritize American interests. Under Biden’s DOJ, this alone has rendered him an adversary.

In a particularly telling incident, the court denied Barton the chance to attend a recent inauguration event for Trump—a small yet potent message indicating that loyalty to Trump comes with consequences.

The most egregious irony? While the federal government seems preoccupied with targeting Barton, Chinese nationals continue to acquire land in the U.S., often in proximity to sensitive military installations. Instead of safeguarding U.S. sovereignty, the Biden administration appears more focused on silencing those who dare to spotlight the CCP’s ambitions.

President Trump has consistently pledged to dismantle the entrenched bureaucracy, remove political appointees from the DOJ, and restore accountability in Washington. This mission should include rectifying injustices inflicted on patriots like Timothy Barton. The call to action is clear: dismiss the charges, return his property, and send a resounding message that America is to be protected from both foreign adversaries and the corrupt elite who enable them.
