Authorities in Douglas County are conducting an investigation following the discovery of a body along Interstate 25 near Larkspur, as reported by the sheriff’s office.
The victim, who remains unidentified, was found on the southbound side of I-25, approximately half a mile north of the Larkspur exit, according to a statement released by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were alerted to the presence of the body and initiated the death investigation just prior to 8 a.m. on Sunday, confirmed Deborah Takahara, spokesperson for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
There were no signs of a collision, and no vehicle was located in the vicinity, Takahara added.
As of Sunday, no further details regarding the ongoing death investigation have been disclosed.
