On Wednesday morning, a 14-year-old boy was shot in what appears to be a targeted attack while he sat in a parked car at a Bronx housing complex, according to police and sources.
The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Seward and Rosedale avenues. The gunman approached the vehicle and fired multiple shots, striking the boy in the left thigh, police reported.
Law enforcement sources indicated that the teen, who seemed to be the intended target, was on his way to school and was not alone in the car parked on the premises of NYCHA’s Soundview Houses.
The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where his condition was listed as stable, police said.
The shooter fled the scene on foot, heading north on Rosedale Avenue, authorities noted.
The suspect, who remains at large, was captured in a photo released by the NYPD early Thursday. He is described as having a dark complexion and was last seen wearing a black sweater and black T-shirt.

This attack follows an incident a week earlier when a 15-year-old boy was shot and left paralyzed from the waist down on an A train near the 80th Street station in Ozone Park, police said.
Additionally, on April 16, 15-year-old Jaden Pierre was fatally shot inside Roy Wilkins Park, where he was also beaten by a group of teens, according to police.
