Have fun.” Cassie also denied the claims made in the docuseries that she told police that Brian had left Gabby at a Wyoming hotel before driving back to Florida without her. She explained, “No one from any family contacted me until detective Barry called me. Det. Barry gravely miscommunicated what I told her on the phone.”
Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito had spent the summer of 2021 traveling across the western United States in a white van, documenting their adventures on YouTube. However, on September 1, Brian returned alone to his parents’ home in North Port, Florida. Ten days later, Gabby was reported missing by her family after they were unable to get any information from the Laundrie family.
