Suspect Chokes Woman Outside Times Square Hotel, Leaving Her Fighting for Life
In a horrifying incident, a woman was choked outside a Times Square hotel on Tuesday morning, leaving her in critical condition, according to law enforcement sources. The assailant attacked the woman, strangling and dragging her, before leaving her unconscious on the sidewalk in front of the Riu Plaza New York Times Square Hotel at 305 West 46th Street, as reported by the police and sources.
Surveillance footage from the hotel captured the disturbing attack, showing the maniac violently assaulting the woman. The unidentified victim, believed to be in her 30s, was rushed by emergency medical technicians to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she remains unconscious and in a life-threatening condition.
The woman was taken to the hospital around 1:16 a.m. after being attacked outside the hotel. Police were alerted by hotel staff about the incident, leading to an investigation into the brutal assault.
Video footage from the hotel captured the assailant dragging the victim on the sidewalk, depicting the violent nature of the attack. The suspect, seen in a tan coat, black pants, black beanie, and white sneakers, remains at large, with the NYPD actively searching for him.
It is unclear if the victim had any prior connection to the attacker or what led to the violent assault. The incident adds to a surge in assaults in the Midtown North Precinct this year, with a 63.3% increase in felony assaults compared to the same period last year, according to NYPD data.
The perpetrator remains on the loose as of Wednesday night, as authorities continue their investigation into the shocking attack.
