California Pizza Kitchen Closes Cherry Creek Shopping Center Location
California Pizza Kitchen has bid farewell to its longtime spot at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center after 25 years of serving up delicious pizzas. The national chain first arrived in Colorado at this location, making its debut in the Centennial State after starting in Beverly Hills, California, in 1985.
Despite multiple attempts to reach out, the corporate headquarters of CPK remained silent on the closure.
The mall’s general manager, Mike Wilson, confirmed that a new business has already been secured to take over the space previously occupied by CPK. However, Wilson declined to provide further details about the new business.
CPK’s presence in Colorado has been shrinking in recent years. Following the chain’s bankruptcy filing in 2020, closures were reported in Boulder and Colorado Springs by The Daily Camera. The fate of a former Broomfield location remains uncertain, with no clear date on when it shut down.
Currently, California Pizza Kitchen maintains its only remaining Colorado restaurant at Park Meadows mall in Lone Tree, as listed on the company’s website.
