Andy Reid is not just a football coach; he is a renowned foodie with a passion for sharing his love of food with his team. Known for his trick plays and mastery of the screen pass, Reid is also famous for his affinity for cheeseburgers and steaks. Every Saturday before a road game, Reid gathers his team at the hotel to talk about local cows and what types of burgers they will have, following his motto: “Let your personality show and I’ll treat you to a cheeseburger.”

Reid’s love for food extends beyond burgers to include a wide range of cuisines and dining experiences. From elite German cuisine in Frankfurt to a four-hour dining experience at Emeril’s in New Orleans, Reid has shared many memorable meals with his team over the years. He has a special fondness for chefs and often chats with them after a meal to learn more about the art of cooking.

One of Reid’s favorite chefs is Michael Mina, with whom he bonded over a Maine lobster pot pie. Reid even called Mina for turkey cooking tips on Thanksgiving Day. While Reid doesn’t have much time to cook, he has perfected his mac and cheese recipe, which includes a blend of fontina, mozzarella, parmesan, sharp cheddar, gouda, and gruyere cheeses.

Reid’s love for cheeseburgers dates back to his childhood in Los Angeles, where he enjoyed cheeseburgers from Original Tommy’s. He loves them so much that he has them flown into Kansas City from LA. Reid often uses cheeseburgers as a way to motivate his players, with cheeseburgers being a common sight at team dinners and gatherings.

Despite his busy schedule, Reid always makes time for Friday night date nights with his wife, Tammy, where they enjoy cheeseburgers from Five Guys. Reid has even shared his perfect cheeseburger recipe, emphasizing the importance of getting it just right for a truly satisfying bite.

Reid’s love for food has become a bonding experience for him and his team, with players like Justin Reid and Trey Smith enjoying meals with their coach before games. Whether it’s sharing banana pudding made by a coach’s wife or indulging in a spread of wings, brisket, and burgers, Reid’s passion for food shines through in every meal he shares with his team.
