The publication emphasized the transformation of podcasting into a central component of media, noting that a decade ago, the industry produced less than $100 million in yearly revenue. “Today, it’s a $9 billion business,” Forbes stated, highlighting how top podcasters are securing major licensing agreements, maintaining control over their intellectual property, and expanding their media ventures beyond their individual shows.
The leading earners include Rogan, making $82 million annually. John Coogan and Jordi Hays follow with their TBPN podcast at $70 million. Steven Bartlett, creator of The Diary of a CEO, earns $45 million, while Ashley Flowers of Crime Junkie brings in $42 million. Rounding out the top five, Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes, hosts of Smartless, earn $37 million.
