The Kansas City Chiefs are currently facing allegations of domestic violence made by Rashee Rice’s ex-partner. The ex-partner, Dacoda Jones, took to Instagram to share her harrowing experience of abuse during their eight-year relationship, including instances of abuse while she was pregnant.

In her lengthy statement, Jones revealed that she had kept quiet about the abuse for years to protect Rice’s image but could no longer stay silent. While she did not directly name Rice in her post, certain details matched up with their relationship. Rice’s own grandmother even commented on the post, claiming that Jones lied about the abuse after a dispute over paying for an apartment.

Jones detailed how the relationship turned into a nightmare after it ended, with Rice allegedly locking her out of their home in freezing temperatures, damaging her belongings, and showing up at her new home to break her door. She also claimed that Rice abandoned her and their children in Kansas, forcing her to beg for money to drive them to Texas.

Furthermore, Jones alleged that Rice is now trying to force her and their kids out of their home for no apparent reason. She expressed frustration with Rice’s public persona as a devoted father, stating that he only does the bare minimum and she has to beg for even that.

Jones included images of her injuries from the domestic violence incidents and damage to her home as evidence of her claims. Despite the serious allegations, Rice’s attorney, Royce West, stated that his client has not been arrested or charged for domestic violence.

The NFL declined to comment on the matter, but the Chiefs acknowledged being “aware” of the claims and are in communication with the league. Rice had previously been suspended for six games earlier in the season for a hit-and-run crash in Texas. His teammates, including Travis Kelce and Tyquan Thornton, showed support for him by wearing “Free 4” shirts during his suspension.

Rice pleaded guilty to two felonies related to the hit-and-run incident and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation. Despite these legal troubles, Rice’s camp has not responded to requests for comment on the domestic violence allegations.

The situation is ongoing, and it remains to be seen how the Chiefs and the NFL will address these serious allegations against Rice.
