Just before this vibrant outing, Aguilera wowed audiences with a stunning performance at the 2025 Portola Music Festival where she embodied her classic “Dirrty” style in a striking leather bodysuit and dazzling chaps.
Reflecting on her iconic 2002 music video, she had shared that the experience remains one of her fondest memories, proudly stating on the July 31 episode of the âHeart Evenings With Dev Griffinâ podcast that she’d love to relive that time. âIâm glad I had the courage to wear the chaps. Itâs great to see people revisit the âDirrtyâ looks, especially around Halloween,â she expressed. âI love seeing how fans put their own twist on the outfits and hairstyles.â
This past summer, Aguilera ignited another fashion trend with sizzling photos from a daring shoot featuring her in front of an ice cream truck. Additionally, the singer has openly addressed the backlash she received from her 2002 chart-topping hit “Dirrty,” asserting that the criticism was unjustified.
In an interview with Vogue, she expressed, “I never thought there was anything inappropriate or offensive about âDirrty.â It symbolized a revival of my confidence.”
âI wanted this album to celebrate every facet of being a woman, embracing strength, empowerment, and my own sexuality without adhering to societal expectations,â Aguilera mentioned. She emphasized the unrealistic beauty standards women face, stating, âThere is a blueprint detailing how we must appear and behaveâbe sexy without being too sexy, maintain a good girl persona while avoiding being boring.â
The singer concluded, âWe are handed a rulebook from a young age, and as I grew older, I realized you can either conform to these norms or defy them and create your own narrative.â
