CJ ENM Expands European Presence with Major Content Deal on M6+ Streaming Platform
Korean entertainment giant CJ ENM is making waves in Europe with a significant content agreement that brings three of its popular scripted titles to M6+, the streaming service operated by France’s leading terrestrial broadcaster M6.
The deal includes the hit series “Lovely Runner” and “Way Back Love,” as well as the newly launched “I am a Running Mate,” which premieres on the French platform shortly after its debut in Korea.
This partnership marks the third year of collaboration between CJ ENM and M6, which began in 2023 with the introduction of premium Korean content like “Yumi’s Cells” and “EXchange” to the French audience.
Constance Fouquet, director of streaming at M6, expressed her excitement about the exclusive offering of “I am a Running Mate” to French viewers shortly after its Korean release. She emphasized the strong demand for quality K-dramas among the French audience and highlighted the partnership with CJ ENM as a key driver in expanding the platform’s international series catalog.
“Lovely Runner,” a romantic fantasy drama from CJ ENM Studios, gained global popularity for its captivating storyline about celebrity Ryu Sun-jae and fan Im Sol’s time-traveling mission. The series topped charts in numerous countries and held the number one spot on Rakuten Viki for several weeks.
“Way Back Love” is another romantic fantasy series that follows the story of Hee-wan and his childhood friend Ram-woo, who returns as a grim reaper. The show received critical acclaim for its cinematography and storytelling, earning a special screening at the Busan International Film Festival.
“I am a Running Mate” offers a new genre with its coming-of-age drama set in a high school political landscape. The series follows a model student who enters a school election as a running mate, only to be embroiled in a scandal that challenges his perfect image.
Sebastian Kim, VP of the international content business department at CJ ENM, expressed his optimism about the long-lasting impact of the partnership with M6+. He emphasized the importance of delivering new and exciting content to European viewers to further elevate the influence of K-Content in the region.
