America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders star Reece Weaver has bid farewell to her cheerleading career and is looking forward to new opportunities.
“I’m in a stage in my life where I am trying to figure out what is next,” Reece, 24, expressed during her appearance on the “Human School” podcast on Thursday, June 25. She shared that she and her husband, Will Allman, recently decided to move from Texas to Alabama. “We don’t know what the next steps are, but we know that the Lord was calling us back to Tuscaloosa and we had so much peace with that.”
After graduating from the University of Alabama, Reece spent three NFL seasons with the DCC. She has chosen to retire by the end of 2025.
“We have some other fun projects that I’ve been working on,” Reece hinted about her future endeavors during the podcast. “As I’ve been on the Cowboys, I have a book coming out that’s really exciting. There are things in the works and things to come, but right now, I feel like I’m in a part of my life where I’m trying to feel encouraged, inspired and to see really what is next.”
Besides her “faith-based” memoir, Reece is also considering expanding her family with her husband of two years.
“I think there are dreams in the future of wanting to start a family and wanting to still dance, but I just don’t know what that looks like right now,” she said. “So, we’re kind of in the experimental [phase now].”
Reece’s decision to step away from NFL cheerleading was highlighted in season 3 of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

“We are so busy. Events and appearances, we are in and we are out,” Reece exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month of her Cowboys tenure. “I think sometimes we get caught up in, ‘This is a job. We gotta execute.’ Of course, we want to make sure that we keep our standards high and show the world who we are, but I often think that I missed out on maybe looking around the corner, soaking it in and taking a few deep breaths.”
She added at the time, “There are some really cool twists and turns and fun things that you get to experience. You don’t want to miss out on them, so soak it all in.”
While Reece shared with Us Weekly that she’s “really excited” about what lies ahead, she’s been somewhat reluctant to fully embrace the idea of retirement.
“I think retirement for me, at least the retirement that we use through the Cowboys, is you’re done with that journey of being a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader,” Reece explained on the “Human School” podcast. “For a lot of people, when you get to that position, it kind of makes you think you’re done with dance. I don’t want to use it because I’m not retiring from dance. I’m just moving on to the next chapter and the next. … I’m starting a blank canvas of what my story is going to look like.”
