Nkem Ndefo later revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that Obi Ndefo had succumbed to complications from the eating disorder orthorexia, highlighting the severity of the illness.

Despite facing challenges in his personal life, including a life-altering hit-and-run accident in 2019 that led to the amputation of both his legs, Obi Ndefo remained resilient and positive, inspiring many with his strength and courage.
