The Other Art Fair, presented by Saatchi Art, is set to return to ZeroSpace in Brooklyn for its 15th local edition this Mother’s Day weekend, running from May 8 to 11. This renowned fair is known for showcasing independent artists and providing direct access to 125 cutting-edge creators who challenge traditional art-world norms.

As the fair approaches, the spotlight is on the timeless and intimate medium of drawing. From figurative studies to whimsical illustrations, these five standout artists are using drawing to forge connections and push boundaries in unique and personal ways.

Lauren Ly, known for her cozy and detail-rich interiors inspired by childhood nostalgia and literature, will be showcasing her work at the fair. Steve Moors, originally trained in documentary photography, now combines hand drawing, design, and photographic elements in his expressive digital prints.

NYC-based illustrator Andrea Cáceres, who blends playful design with storytelling, will also be featured, along with Ben Lenovitz, who transforms everyday pets into charming characters despite being allergic to them. Charles Buckley, drawing inspiration from found photos and memories, creates nostalgic ink drawings that reflect both West Coast roots and NYC energy.

In addition to the diverse range of artwork on display, The Other Art Fair offers an immersive visitor experience. Guests can sit for a portrait with featured artist and New York Times bestselling author Anna Marie Tendler, participate in an interactive scavenger hunt with illustrator Joe Kraft, and even get a machine-free tattoo from Kelli Kikcio on Thursday and Friday.

Throughout the fair, there will be hands-on experiences led by artists, including complimentary fantasy hand-drawn illustrations from Ben Lenovitz on Thursday, on-the-spot patch sewing by OOH Baby on Friday, and paper flower making with Summer Space Studio on Saturday and Sunday. The fair will culminate in Friday Late, a curated evening event with DJs, interactive installations, and local beverages, offering a lively snapshot of Brooklyn’s creative scene.
