In a significant move reminiscent of last year’s adjustments, subscribers to Disney+ and Hulu in the United States are bracing for an uptick in subscription fees.

While Disney+ in the UK has already confirmed a price rise on one of its annual tiers, American subscribers will see alterations across most plans.

For anyone curious about how these changes may affect them, here’s all the pertinent information.

When Do Disney+ and Hulu Price Changes Take Effect in the U.S.?

The new pricing structure will take effect on October 21, 2025. Subscribers can expect notifications regarding the upcoming changes in the weeks leading up to this date.

Understanding the Price Hikes for Disney+ and Hulu

Here’s a comprehensive list detailing the upcoming price adjustments, including plans that remain unaffected:

  • Disney+ Premium and Hulu Ad-Free Bundle Monthly: Remains at $19.99
  • Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select Ad-Supported Bundle: Now $19.99 (up from $16.99)
  • Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select Ad-Free Bundle: Now $29.99 (up from $26.99)

If you’re a Hulu subscriber enjoying an ad-free experience or possessing the monthly ad-free bundle with Disney+, you won’t see any price changes this time.

For those on other plans, consider the following options.

Lock in Lower Prices with an Annual Subscription

If you’re currently subscribed to Disney+ or Hulu, one effective strategy is to purchase or extend your subscription through an annual plan before the price increase takes effect.

The annual subscription for Disney+ Premium (ad-free) is currently priced at $159.99, while an ad-supported Hulu plan goes for $99.99 annually. These are the only annual subscription options available.

New subscribers can take advantage of annual subscriptions by visiting the respective Disney+ website or the Hulu website.

If you need to renew your subscription, follow these steps before 11:59 PM local time on October 20, 2025:

  • Navigate to the Disney+ website or the Hulu website.
  • Click on your profile icon located at the top right corner, then select ‘Account’ from the dropdown menu.
  • Proceed through the prompts to modify your subscription settings, which may vary based on your payment method.

Delaying the purchase until closer to the hike date allows you to retain the current prices a bit longer.

If your subscription is already active for a year, however, buying a new subscription can be complicated. Although Disney has altered its long-term gift subscription policies, you can still acquire a digital gift card. This time, however, you won’t have long-term subscriptions; you can enter a custom amount to use towards monthly or annual plans.

While this offers users greater flexibility for gift options, it complicates locking in lower prices ahead of hikes.

Switch to a Disney+ Bundle Subscription

For users who frequently alternate between various streaming services, converting to a bundle subscription may present a more budget-friendly option.

The Disney+ and Hulu ad-free bundle remains priced at $19.99 per month and includes access to beloved franchises such as Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It also features shows like Only Murders in the Building and the upcoming Shōgun.

If you are a sports fan, one option is taking advantage of bundles that include ESPN. Currently, there’s an offer to access all three services (with ads) for $29.99 per month for 12 months.

Additionally, the Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max bundle allows you to stream hits like House of the Dragon and The White Lotus, starting at $16.99 per month, although this option will also see a price rise of $3 in October.

Bundling Disney+ with Your Broadband Plan

Another effective cost-saving strategy is to bundle Disney+ with a broadband service. For instance, if you’re a customer of Verizon, this carrier offers subscription bundles at reduced rates—$10 per month compared to the usual $16.99.

Considering Cancellation of Your Subscription

If you find that none of these options align with your preferences, you always have the choice to cancel your Disney+ or Hulu subscription. You can rejoin in the future when a desired title is available.

To cancel your subscription, adhere to these steps:

  • Visit the Disney+ website.
  • Click your profile icon at the top right and select ‘Account’ from the dropdown.
  • Follow the prompts to manage your account and cancel your subscription.
