Trump Criticizes Super Bowl Halftime Performers, Plans to Skip Game

In a recent Oval Office interview, former President Donald Trump expressed his displeasure with the selection of Latin rap star Bad Bunny and punk rock band Green Day as the halftime performers for the upcoming NFL championship game in San Francisco on February 8.

Trump told The New York Post that he is “anti-them” and believes the choice of performers will only incite hatred. Despite his criticism, he clarified that the halftime show was not the main reason for his decision to skip the game.

“It’s just too far away. I would go. I’ve had great experiences at the Super Bowl. They like me,” Trump explained. “I would attend if it was a bit closer.”

Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican artist with a large Spanish-speaking fan base, has been vocal in his opposition to Trump. In his song “Nuevayol,” released last year, Bad Bunny included a segment where he impersonates Trump apologizing to immigrants in America and acknowledging the contributions of various Hispanic communities.

While Trump’s absence from the Super Bowl may be disappointing to some, it is clear that his decision is influenced by logistical factors rather than just the choice of halftime performers.
