A tragic incident unfolded in Minnesota when a drunk driver collided with an elderly woman’s car, resulting in her death. The driver, Aloysius Kenneth Johnson, had been drinking at a bar in Andover with his wife before the fatal crash occurred. Johnson, who has a previous DUI conviction, admitted to consuming several vodka sodas before getting behind the wheel of his Ford F-350.

According to reports, Johnson’s wife believed he was attempting to race her home when he sped off from the bar. His vehicle ultimately crashed into a Kia Soul driven by 74-year-old Alice Marie Stack, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Witnesses observed Johnson fleeing the scene of the accident, exhibiting signs of intoxication as he ran towards a nearby wooded area.

Law enforcement officers located Johnson shortly after the crash, where he displayed classic symptoms of alcohol impairment, including slurred speech and difficulty balancing. Despite acknowledging that he had consumed multiple drinks, Johnson claimed to have no recollection of the collision. His wife confirmed the ownership of the Ford truck and recounted her attempts to dissuade Johnson from driving, offering to drive him home herself.

Johnson’s previous DUI history was brought to light, prompting authorities to charge him with criminal vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol. Bail was set at $400,000 without conditions or $200,000 with conditions, with a court date scheduled for June 23.

The tragic loss of Alice Marie Stack serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of drunk driving. This heartbreaking incident underscores the importance of responsible decision-making and the potentially fatal outcomes of driving under the influence. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Alice Marie Stack during this difficult time.
