In a rare twist of fate, Democrats seem to be hitting the mark with their messaging against what President Trump has dubbed his “Big Beautiful Bill,” a title that feels more like a marketing ploy than a reflection of its actual content.

In the dead of night, Senate Republicans unveiled a gargantuan 940-page bill, which they are still tinkering with as we speak. Senator Elizabeth Warren took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express her concerns:

Senate Republicans dropped a nearly 1,000-page “Big Beautiful Bill” in the DEAD OF THE NIGHT. And they want to vote on it TODAY. Trump is jamming through a bill that rips away health care, closes hospitals, raises grocery and utility bills to give tax breaks to billionaires.

But you don’t have to rely solely on Senator Warren’s fiery rhetoric to gauge the bill’s potential ramifications.

Sharon Parrott, President of the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP), stated in a press release:

Despite attempts to obscure its impact, the reality is evident — this bill will harm individuals in every state if enacted. Senators who cast their votes in favor will bear responsibility for the consequences:

  • Approximately 16 million people could lose their health coverage, with millions more facing increased costs due to severe cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace coverage, compounded by the failure to extend enhanced premium tax credits. This could lead to a loss of access to life-saving medical care, mounting medical debt, and deteriorating health outcomes. The legislation is poised to result in preventable deaths, increased uncompensated care, and a higher rate of rural hospital closures.
