The Federal Aviation Administration has announced ground delays at multiple airports as a nor’easter impacts the region, with average delays nearing two hours in certain areas.
As of 12:35 p.m. on Sunday, passengers at Boston Logan International Airport are warned to anticipate an average delay of 86 minutes due to poor visibility, while Newark Liberty International Airport travelers face an average wait of around 80 minutes.
Travelers at LaGuardia Airport may face delays of about 106 minutes, while JFK Airport is reporting average delays of around 102 minutes.
In contrast, Philadelphia International Airport and Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. are experiencing the least delays, averaging 32 minutes and 26 minutes, respectively.
The powerful nor’easter, which began to intensify early Sunday, is projected to cause significant coastal flooding and fierce winds, with gusts reaching up to 60 miles per hour from Charleston to New England.
