The Fall 2025 season of art and architecture books from Yale University Press is truly exceptional. This season’s offerings include a wide range of exhibition catalogues that are sure to captivate art enthusiasts. Some highlights include “Man Ray: When Objects Dream” from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, “Dreamworld: Surrealism at 100” from the Philadelphia Art Museum, “Lee Miller” from Tate, “Manet & Morisot” from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and “Photography and the Black Arts Movement, 1955-1985” from the National Gallery of Art.

In addition to these exhibition catalogues, there are also some exciting new releases to look out for. “Knife-Woman” is a landmark biography of Louise Bourgeois by Marie-Laure Bernadac, translated into English by Lauren Elkin. Philip Ball’s illustrated history of alchemy and alchemists promises to be a fascinating read. And “I Don’t Think About Being Great” is a collection of writings by Robert Rauschenberg that is both thought-provoking and entertaining.

For fans of Bridgerton, there is an illustrated guide to Regency dress by Hilary Davidson. If you’re interested in the gods of ancient Egypt, “Divine Egypt” from The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a must-read. And for those who want to explore Arts and Crafts architecture highlights without leaving home, Maureen Meister has you covered. If you’re curious about how Hew Locke’s works reveal and upend the visual codes of imperialism, be sure to check out the exhibition catalogue from the Hew Locke show at the Yale Center for British Art.
