Finn Balor has taken to social media to address his betrayal at WWE WrestleMania 41. The Judgment Day star was part of a Fatal Four-Way Match for the Intercontinental Championship at the prestigious event. Bron Breakker put his title on the line against Penta, Balor, and Dominik Mysterio on Night Two of WrestleMania.
Initially, the Judgment Day stars seemed to be working well together in the match, where it was every man for himself. However, tensions rose between them, leading to a dramatic turn of events. Balor tripped up Mysterio on the turnbuckle and delivered a devastating Coup de Grâce to Breakker. But Dirty Dom managed to recover and hit Balor with a Frog Splash, securing the pinfall victory and capturing the Intercontinental Championship.
Taking to Instagram, Balor shared a photo of himself stomping on Mysterio during the title match, hinting at a possible revenge plot. Mysterio, who is a former NXT North American Champion, achieved his first singles title on the main roster by becoming the Intercontinental Champion at WrestleMania 41.
Wrestling veteran Vince Russo weighed in on Balor’s loss at WrestleMania, stating that the rivalry between Balor and Mysterio did not necessarily need the Intercontinental Championship in the mix. Russo believed that Breakker should have retained the title to establish himself further, suggesting that the feud between Balor and Mysterio was compelling enough without the title involved.
In another match at WrestleMania 41, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez lost the Women’s Tag Team Championship to Lyra Valkyria and a returning Becky Lynch. It remains to be seen if Balor will seek revenge on Mysterio in the upcoming episode of WWE RAW.
As the WWE Universe eagerly anticipates the fallout from WrestleMania, it is clear that the drama and rivalries will continue to unfold in the world of professional wrestling. Stay tuned for more updates and developments in the exciting world of sports entertainment.
