Joaquin Consuelos, Sam Trammell, and Heather Burns have officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated Hulu pilot, “Foster Dade,” based on Nash Jenkins’ novel “Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos.”
Consuelos, the son of Kelly Ripa, will take on the role of Colby, a senior prefect at Brennan House. Described as confident and resume-obsessed, Colby initially appears friendly but quickly reveals himself as a rule-obsessed enforcer with a chip on his shoulder.
Trammell, known for his roles in “True Blood” and “Homeland,” will portray Jim Dade, Foster’s unreliable father. Paid to secure Foster’s admission to Kennedy, Jim believes he is entitled to his son’s love and attention whenever he pleases.
Burns, famous for her roles in “You’ve Got Mail” and “Miss Congeniality,” will play Charlotte Dade, Foster’s recently divorced mother. Described as caring, easily charmed, and wine-loving, Charlotte spends her free time juggling work, workouts, and wine.
The pilot, written by Greg Berlanti and Bash Doran, promises to be a sophisticated mystery set in an East Coast boarding school. The series will explore themes of privilege, scandal, sexuality, and masculinity in the age of social media, millennial anxiety, and pharmaceuticals.
Produced by Berlanti Productions, the show features an ensemble of talented actors and promises to deliver a compelling narrative that delves deep into the complexities of modern-day adolescence. Warner Bros. Television is set to produce the pilot under the guidance of Berlanti Productions and Donald De Line.
With an all-star cast and a gripping storyline, “Foster Dade” is poised to be a must-watch series that will captivate audiences with its intriguing plot twists and dynamic characters. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new show coming soon to Hulu.
