This narrative serves as yet another reminder that the elite establishment often misses the mark when it comes to understanding the sentiments of the electorate.
Pollster Frank Luntz engaged with a panel of Trump supporters, seemingly attempting to coax them into expressing regret regarding their support for Trump, particularly concerning economic policies like tariffs.
To his astonishment, not a single participant expressed regret. In fact, many were more than willing to shoulder higher prices for American-made goods. There was a prevailing confidence that the stock market would ultimately rebound.
Luntz was left visibly perplexed; the discussion did not unfold as he had anticipated.
BizPacReview covers the exchange:
“I need to ask you an issue that no one’s brought up and has crashed your 401(k)s, most of you, the tariffs,” Luntz noted. “The stock market is way down.”
“It needed a correction,” responded Sarina from New York.
“Oh, so you support it?” a visibly taken aback Luntz probed, to which several participants nodded in agreement.
“And I have to tell you, my 401(k) wasn’t impacted at all,” Sarina continued.
“First of all, how many of you did not lose any money over the crash of the stock market?” Luntz inquired, as three hands emerged on screen.
David from Ohio interjected, stating he had “lost more money under the Biden administration than under the Trump administration.”
“No one’s upset over this?” Luntz pressed.
“No,” the panel responded collectively.
“There’s not a single four-year period in the history of the stock market where it hasn’t appreciated at an average rate of about seven percent,” John from Colorado observed. “So yes, there are fluctuations and corrections, and people tend to make foolish moves like buying high and selling low. But if individuals just stay invested, they’ll ultimately be alright.”

YOU’VE GOTTA HEAR THIS: Frank Luntz gets a panel of Trump voters and is shocked when he finds out they aren’t jumping ship because of a market correction/dip in response to tariffs.
There’s too much reason and logic in this frame for any single Democrat to handle!

This illustrates the ongoing absurdity in the belief among some on the left that Trump supporters harbor regrets about their votes. In reality, nearly every Trump voter you encounter is likely to assert with conviction, ‘I stand by my choice.’
