Peacock’s highly anticipated “Friday the 13th” prequel series, “Crystal Lake,” has just announced the addition of William Catlett to its cast. Catlett will be joining previously announced lead Linda Cardellini, who is set to portray the iconic character Pamela Voorhees. In this upcoming series, Catlett will take on the role of Levon Brooks, although specific character details are being kept under wraps. The show will delve into Voorhees’ life before the events of the original “Friday the 13th” film, providing fans with a deeper insight into the character’s backstory.

William Catlett is no stranger to the screen, having recently appeared in Mara Brock Akil’s Netflix series “Forever,” as well as the CW superhero series “Black Lightning.” His impressive resume also includes roles in Apple TV+’s “Constellation” and “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey,” as well as HBO’s “Lovecraft Country.” Catlett has showcased his talent in films such as “A Thousand and One” and “Never Let Go,” proving himself to be a versatile and skilled actor in both television and film.

The talented actor is represented by IAG, Anonymous Content, and Granderson Des Rochers, further solidifying his presence in the entertainment industry. “Crystal Lake” has undergone some changes behind the scenes, with Brad Caleb Kane taking on the roles of creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer as of August 2024. The series is also being executive produced by A24, with Victor Miller, the original writer of the “Friday the 13th” film, remaining on board as an executive producer alongside Marc Toberoff, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, and Stuart Manashil.

Over the years, the franchise has spawned eleven sequels, including fan-favorite films like “Jason X” and “Freddy vs. Jason,” as well as a 2009 reboot. Jason Voorhees quickly became the main antagonist, captivating audiences with his terrifying presence on screen.

As fans eagerly anticipate the release of “Crystal Lake,” the addition of William Catlett to the cast only heightens excitement for this thrilling prequel series. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated project as it continues to develop.
