Google Home Speaker Potential Launch Date 25 June

Google initially introduced its upcoming Home Speaker at the Made by Google event last summer, but since then, only indicated that the device would be available by “spring 2026”.

With spring nearly over, there were doubts about the arrival of the Gemini AI-integrated product. The previous model, the bulky Nest Audio, was released six years ago.

Now, the mystery of its release appears to be resolved, assuming the product page on Best Buy’s Canadian site is accurate.

The Best Buy page states that the speaker will be available on June 25, which is just three and a half weeks away.

The design has been updated, though it retains the familiar fabric-covered globe shape. It will be offered in four colors: Jade, Berry, Porcelain, and Hazel, but only the latter two will be available outside the US, essentially limiting options to white and black.

Notably, these are the only colors listed on the Best Buy page, suggesting other colors might be introduced later.

The speaker features a light ring at its base, providing “expressive visual feedback of what Gemini is doing at any given moment,” as described by Google.

The previous Nest branding has been dropped. This is now a Google device, designed to enhance conversational interactions with Gemini AI.

The Google Home Speaker will be priced at £99 in the UK and $99 in the US. Best Buy lists the price as $139.99 CAD in Canada.
