Google has recently introduced the March Pixel Drop, which brings a host of new features and upgrades to Pixel devices, including smartphones and smartwatches. The update is currently rolling out gradually to compatible devices over the next few weeks, ahead of the anticipated release of Android 17.

One of the standout features of the March Pixel Drop is the enhancement of Circle to Search. This feature now boasts multi-object image recognition, allowing users to identify multiple objects within a single circle. For example, users can identify all the plants in a botanical garden or every character in a movie trailer. Additionally, a new “Try It On” button has been added to Circle to Search, enabling users to superimpose outfits onto images of themselves.

Another significant addition is the improved functionality of Gemini, Google’s digital assistant. Gemini can now utilize third-party ordering apps like DoorDash and Uber to order groceries and cabs on behalf of users, although this feature is currently in beta and limited to Pixel 10-series devices.

Magic Cue, another AI feature introduced with the Pixel 10 series, has also received upgrades in the March Pixel Drop. The feature now offers restaurant recommendations through a Gemini prompt while users are texting about where to eat, eliminating the need to leave the chat.

One of the most beloved features of Pixel devices, Now Playing, has been elevated with its own dedicated app in the March Pixel Drop. This app allows users to track their music history and easily access previously discovered tracks for playback on their preferred music service.

In addition to these key features, the March Pixel Drop includes a range of other enhancements, such as new insights from At a Glance, AI-generated custom icons, and expanded capabilities for the Pixel Watch. These updates demonstrate Google’s commitment to continuously improving the user experience for Pixel device owners.
