Google has announced that it has resolved a bug affecting the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series with its July update. This issue is now marked as ‘Fixed’ on the company’s IssueTracker.
However, owners of the Pixel 8a and Pixel 9a models will have to wait until the September Quarterly Platform Release for their fix.

Despite the claims, it remains uncertain if the bug has been fully addressed as stated. According to Android Authority, the July Pixel update changelog does not specifically mention a resolution for the idle battery drain issue, leaving some ambiguity about the changes made.
Concerns persist as reports of battery drain problems continue to surface following the July update. On the Google Pixel Reddit page, several users have reported ongoing issues with excessive battery drain on their devices.
This year has been challenging for Google’s Pixel series in terms of bugs. The Pixel phones have faced various issues over recent months, and the recent rollout of Android 17 introduced a new set of bugs.
