Gore police hunt for answers after car destroyed by fire

Authorities in Gore are seeking assistance from the public as they investigate a fiery car incident that occurred on Frank St in the early hours of Monday, January 19.

According to Detective Sergeant Brian McKinney, a 2018 Holden Captiva was found engulfed in flames upon police arrival at 1am. The vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire, prompting a thorough examination of the scene by both police and fire investigators.

“We are currently pursuing various leads to determine the cause of this incident,” stated Det Sgt McKinney.

Individuals with CCTV or dashcam footage from Joseph, Frank, and Thomas Streets during the time of the incident are urged to come forward. Additionally, anyone who witnessed suspicious behavior in the vicinity of Frank Street before or after the car fire is encouraged to contact the authorities.

To provide information related to the case, individuals can reach out to the police referencing number 260119/7266. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers online or by calling 0800 555 111.
